The School Surgery
The School Surgery is based on the school site and has a registered and experienced school nurse who looks after all the pupils' medical and emotional needs. During term time, there is always a nurse on duty during the school day from Monday to Friday.
We have access to a doctor's service during the day, and overnight for emergencies. The nurse assesses each pupil on visiting the medical centre and implements any necessary treatment. The surgery is well equipped to treat first aid and minor ailments. If further treatment is necessary, the nurse is able to consult the GP and organise transportation to the hospital or minor injury unit. All treatment administered is treated in strict confidence and recorded. Parents are kept informed when appropriate.
It is important that we have up to date medical information and medication consents when your child is in the care of the school, whether as a day pupil or a boarder.
