Chaplaincy

The Oswestry School Chapel is situated at the heart of the school and serves both the Senior and Prep Schools.

Reverend Andrew Cranston took up the position of Oswestry School’s Chaplain in September 2014, he is married to Lydia has three children; Joanna, Phoebe and Benjamin. Andrew studied Mechanical Engineering at Exeter University and, following a PGCE in design technology, he spent four years as a design technology teacher in Wiltshire before moving to Cambridge to train for ordained ministry in the Church of England.

Andrew graduated from Ridley Hall Theological College, with a B.Th. for Ministry in July 2011 and was ordained Priest the following year. He spent three years serving as a curate in Staffordshire before heading west to join the staff team here at Oswestry.

When not teaching design or religious studies, or having a friendly chat with colleagues or pupils, Andrew is most likely to be found trying to get permission to play clergy cricket (either for Lichfield diocese or the Archbishop of Canterbury's XI), dreaming of snowy mountains, or on the hunt for a new prop that could be used for a chapel service or Bellan assembly.
