Following his outstanding accomplishment in the County Athletics Championships, 2nd Form pupil Aaron, has been awarded the Clements Cup by the Shropshire Athletics Association.

The award was presented to Aaron by Derek Hayward MBE, a former PE advisor who formed the Telford and Oswestry athletics clubs and who has spent the last 45 years overseeing the growth of athletics in the county.

The Clements Cup is in recognition for the Best Male performance across the county in all age categories and events at the County championships. Aaron secured a new championship record whilst representing Oswestry School with a time of 2.14.3 in the U13 boys 800m. 

Although Aaron wasn’t allowed to take the trophy home due to its expense, he was given a superb memento. Aaron has since gone on to gain a Grade 1 time of 2.11.7 and has been listed in the UK all-time best records.
