Dr Guy Sutton's Brain Day

Brain Day was an opportunity for our Sixth Form psychology pupils to hear about the cutting edge of neuroscience, with the most up to date research and developments in the field from Dr Guy Sutton, founder of Medical Biology Interactive and Honorary Lecturer at the University of Nottingham Medical School.

As part of the day pupils took part in the dissection of a sheep brain, seeing all of the common structures we share as mammals, and they heard about connectomes and mini brains. This was an opportunity to stretch everyone beyond the curriculum helping them to stand out in job and university applications.

Parents also got their chance to go back to school with 'The Teen Brain' lecture the same evening, offering information and insight into that most tricky of creatures - the teenager!
