Charity, Fundraising and Community Services

Charity Support

Throughout the year, we support a wide range of charities as a School. Often we respond to a charity that has a particular significance to us as a school and at other times we respond to disasters or issues which are occurring at a national or global level.

In the past, we have supported, for example, The Harry Johnson Trust, Royal National Institute of Blind People, Empathy, the Motor Neurone Disease Association, Alopecia UK, Help For Heroes, the Disasters Emergency Committee and the PDSA.

Community Action

Every Friday afternoon pupils from Fifth Form to Upper Sixth (Year 11-13) can choose to take part in some form of community service. Long established links to the wider community are regarded as exceptionally important and the contribution made by pupils at the School towards sustaining this relationship is significant.

There is a wide range of activities within the community service programme from which pupils can choose. The most popular options include: visiting local primary schools, where our students offer classroom support; visiting elderly members of the community either in their own homes or in nursing or care homes; working with local environmental projects and supporting local school children in maths, languages, music and art.
