The many clubs and societies offered at Oswestry School are designed to appeal to pupils of various ages and interests. Included are such diverse activities as sailing, chess, photography, horse riding, self defence, personal fitness, badminton and mountain biking. After school activities and clubs vary each term but there is always a wide variety of activities to choose from.
There are regular art and theatre trips and many Lower School excursions, usually linked to particular subjects.
Pupils from Year 9 and above are able to take part in "Ski Aosta", the popular annual school ski trip to the Italian Alps.
Older pupils have the opportunity to learn self-reliance and develop leadership skills via activities organised under the Combined Cadet Force and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme. There are regular expeditions, including, most recently, to South Africa and The Alps.
Fundraising events for a variety of charities are held throughout the school year. Recent events have included musical concerts, own clothes days, a sponsored swim and, every other year, the entire school takes part in a 15-mile charity walk over the hills surrounding Oswestry.
