RAF Gives Head Boy Wings
Rob Jones, Head Boy 2005-6, commenced Initial Officer Training on the 18th November 2007 at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire.
This was a 32 week course split into 3 terms. The course covered a range of topics including military skills, leadership, academics and intense physical training. Rob graduated as a Commissioned Officer with the rank of Acting Pilot Officer on 10th July 2008.
Rob is now in holding and is due to start pilot training on 29th September 2008. This will consist of 6 weeks at ground training school, then another 20 weeks of elementary flight training. At the end of this training Rob will be streamed to either fast jet, multi engine or rotary flying depending on ability and service requirement.
