3 Members of Year 11 Selected for U16 Shropshire Academy

After trials at the beginning of December, Victoria Martoccia, Gemma Watkiss and Katy Yates of Year 11 have been awarded places in the U16 Shropshire County Netball Academy for 2007 - a terrific achievement for them with only 23 places being awarded for the whole of the county, including Telford.

After the recent demise of the Shropshire Schools' County Netball structure, the academy is an initiative between England Netball and the Shropshire Sports Partnership to develop young talent.  There will be four, 2 hour sessions of training over the next couple of months taking place in Telford, Ludlow and Shrewsbury, the first being today at Idsall Sports Centre, Telford.
