Saturday 10th March
Netball

U18, U16, U15, U14 v Wolverhampton GS (h) 9.30am

The weather was gorgeous and ideal for netball as Wolverhampton Grammar School travelled with 4 teams to play Oswestry today.  Wolverhampton are a much bigger school than Oswestry but it is always a good fixture, which we enjoy.

1st VII
Wolverhampton took an early lead which they increased steadily in spite of changes of position in the Oswestry team.  Well done to Emma Chapman who played her first game in the 1st VII and against such excellent opposition.
Oswestry lost 11-36

U16
This team have been haunted by their only loss of last season, which was against Wolverhampton Grammar School.  The Oswestry team realised it had been their lack of motivation last year and had no intention of making the same mistake twice!!  They moved into an early lead and, although Wolverhampton rallied and fought back, Oswestry were playing excellent netball and further increased their lead to make it a very convincing win.
Oswestry won 25 -15

U15
Once again, Wolverhampton took an early lead but Oswestry, with regular players missing from the team, did not give up and managed to close the gap for a while.  However, the Wolverhampton team proved too strong and went on to win 24-12

U14
Although this team lost quite heavily, they should be proud of the way they played.  Having lost some of their regular players, and with two of the U13 team playing in a variety of positions, they played to the best of their ability, never giving up.  That's all we can ask, and Miss Ainslie was proud of their performance.

Congratulations to all the teams.  The Oswestry staff were proud of you all.
