U19 North Shropshire Tournament (Ellesmere College) 2pm

This is held at a time when we usually have frost and the weather forecast was for rain, so Ellesmere College kindly offered us the use of their sports hall to hold the tournament.  What happened?  Blue skies and sunshine!  Oh well - everyone enjoyed themselves anyway.

Oswestry started off strongly in their first match which was against Moreton Hall.  Gemma Watkiss, Sophie Adams and Victoria Martoccia held the centre court admirably, setting up numerous shooting opportunities for Katy Yates and Katherine Stockdale.

In the next match, against Walford and North Shropshire College, Oswestry had to sharpen their skills further to match the speed of play from the college side.  This was accomplished particularly well by Martha Twigg, whose speed and competitiveness worked continually to Oswestry's advantage.

The match against Ellesmere College was a very good one, as we knew it would be, but the Oswestry team were playing some of their very best netball by this time, with everyone staying to the game plan and shooters working well in the circle together. LauraBell Williams and Victoria were anticipating well in the defence zone and the play was fast and accurate.

The final match against Thomas Adams completed the run of winning every match in the tournament, resulting in Oswestry emerging as well-deserved champions.

Mrs. Keighley was ecstatic with the team's performance throughout the tournament as everthing they had been practising throughout this term came together at the right time.  The squad should be very proud of themselves.
