Years 5 and 6
'Kensuke's Kingdom' Theatr Hafren 1.30pm
Years 5 and 6 visit Theatr Hafren this afternoon to watch the Birmingham Stage Company's touring production of 'Kensuke's Kingdom', the exciting book by Michael Morpurgo. A coach will leave school for Theatr Hafren at 11.30am and return by 4.15pm. Packed lunches will be provided by the school, although children may bring their own instead.
The story follows Michael, nearly 11, whose family has hit hard times. They decide to buy a boat and sail around the world. For a while, everything is splendid - Michael, his parents, and his dog, Stella Artois, visit places most 11 year olds haven't even heard of, let alone dreamt of. Then disaster strikes, and Michael finds himself shipwrecked on a seemingly deserted island . . . .
We are delighted that Michael Morpurgo, the former Children’s Laureate will be visiting Oswestry School in May, as part of the school's 600th Anniversary celebrations - keep watching the diary to find out when this will be happening!
