Mrs Janet Evans, from the RSPB education scheme at Lake Vyrnwy, came into school this afternoon to talk to the Year 5 science class about wild birds - some that were familiar to them and others that were not.
Pointing out the hazards that these birds face in today's modern environment, Mrs Evans showed the children how they could help reduce these and how they could help the birds in ways such as putting up bird boxes and providing the right kind of food for them - they even had the chance to make a cake for the birds themselves.
Have a look at the RSPB website to find out what they were learning about.
Fact: Lake Vyrnwy provides all the water for Liverpool and Merseyside and holds enough water to fill 702 million baths which is around 10 baths per person living in the UK!
