Year 8 History Trip to York

29th June-2nd July

Last Monday 25 Year 8 pupils accompanied by Mr Shorrock and Ms Evans went to York for a few days. The group stayed at the youth hostel and then went on a variety of trips out.

‘The York Dungeon was the best; it was really scary but it was loads of fun!’  The actors were good and the rooms were realistic and convincing.  The ghost walk was also really good; the man who led it was very serious and believable, it was funny when he kept picking on Mr Shorrock and calling him ‘the big one’.

We went to the Jorvik Viking Centre and in groups went around in carts and saw and smelt Viking York.  We also went on a river cruise and had a tour of York Minster.  It was also good when we got free time to go shopping in the centre of York.

The sealife centre had interesting animals to look at and the journey to Whitby and Scarborough was nice especially since we went on the beach and it was sunny.

Overall the weather was very sunny and hot which made the whole trip even better.
