Year 9 pupils Alastair Johnson and Henry Potter, who play for Oswestry Boys Club, are members of the team that have just won through to the British final of the Lions Clubs 5 Nations Youth Football Tournament.
The competition, for U14 boys teams, is sanctioned each year by the English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish Football Associations and by UEFA, and this year attracted a total of 128 teams.
The successful Oswestry team beat Loughborough in a thrilling semi-final at Telford United's ground. Loughborough, from the Leicester A League, included several Leicester City Academy players in their ranks and took an early lead only for Oswestry to draw level and take a 3-1 lead into half time. With only 10 minutes to go and Oswestry leading 5-2, Loughborough pulled back 2 late goals to make it a nail biting last few minutes. However, Oswestry held on to meet Corinthians in the final to be played later this month.
The final will be played on a football league ground, believed to be either Nottingham Forest or MK Dons.
Good luck in the final boys.
