Saturday 14th June
Borderland Visual Arts Open Studios 2008

Sexcentenary Wall Hanging, Chapel, 10.00am - 5.00pm

An opportunity to view the wonderful wall hanging in the School Chapel designed and created to celebrate Oswestry School's 600th anniversary.

Worked over several years by parents and friends of the school, the work is a quilted fabric wall-hanging in appliqué, hand and machine embroidery and fabric painting depicting six scenes from the history of the school.

Parents and friends who put together the wall-hanging have also kindly compiled a diary explaining how the work came about, what techniques and fabrics were used and how it was implemented.  They will be manning the Chapel on both weekends.

Why not take the opportunity to come and have a look at the hanging?

This event is part of the BVA Open Studios 2008 exhibition, sponsored by Oswestry School - click here to go to the BVA website to find out more details and to download a programme.

The chapel will also be open on Sunday 15th and Saturday and Sunday, 21st and 22nd June.
