Saturday 5th July
Parents Association

Summer Ball, 7.15pm

This year’s Summer Ball was a great success, despite some rather dubious weather.  Nearly 300 guests assembled in the marquee on the Maes-y-Llan for a welcome drink of Pimm’s or elderflower cordial, and after a delightful meal provided by the school caterers, Chartwells, we all enjoyed an excellent performance by the band, “Bad Hair Day”.

A short power cut halfway through the evening may have dimmed the lights, but not the atmosphere, and the bar and the Casino did roaring business all through the evening.  A silent auction offered a wide variety of promises which attracted considerable interest.  A disco provided more entertainment until 1.00 am, and mercifully the rain did not present any problems either inside or outside the marquee.

The Parents’ Association would like to thank all those involved in the preparations for the Ball, and, of course, the guests.  Our aim is primarily to ensure that all who attend have an enjoyable evening, and also to raise monies for the Association to provide support for extra-curricular activities around the School to the benefit of all pupils.  If you would like to join the Parents’ Association, new members are always welcome.
