U16, U15, U14 v Moreton Hall (h) 1.30pm

U16
Moreton Hall took an early lead in the first 2 quarters but Oswestry then rallied, fighting back well, with more accurate passing and better marking.  Good shooting from Kinzi Welsby and great ball-handling from Alex Mowbray enabled them to bring the score closer.  Unfortunately, Moreton Hall moved up a gear putting our defence under pressure.  Oswestry lost 10-20.

U14
With such a small squad to begin with, injuries and absences caused changes of positions before the match started.  The team had learned from their mistakes earlier in the week and were far more settled, with everyone supporting each other and remaining focussed throughout.  Natalie Renwick and Laura Doyle worked tirelessly as centre links; the defence was put under a great deal of pressure from the excellent shooting from Moreton Hall, but they coped well, setting up good attacking moves.  This was one of the most exciting matches of the season, with play flowing quickly from end to end and Oswestry pulled up by the end of the second quarter to be 8-10 down.  It says a great deal of the mental attitude of this young team that they responded so positively to the team talk and were winning by 2 goals in the next quarter.  This gave them the confidence for the final quarter as they went on to win 20-14.
