If so, then please save your old one, even if it is not in working condition, and bring it into school to raise money for the LEAP school, the school that we support in South Africa and visited on the 2007 netball tour. Why don't you ask friends and family to search for any old or broken phones that they may have lying at the back of their drawers at home? Every one helps!
Mr Duffett, former English teacher here, has written about LEAP, his new school, in the new edition of The Oswestrian (click here to read his article) and Oswestry School, together with The Rotary Clubs of Oswestry and Signal Hill and Newlands in South Africa are raising funds to provide a computer suite for the second LEAP school.
Our main contribution to this will, we hope, be the Lower and Middle School sponsored swim in February but all contributions are important and make a difference. So far this school year, we have raised £585 from the following events - let's see how many phones we can collect!
Own Clothes Day £209
SA photos £30
Candle Sales £46
Donation from Christmas Fair £300
Please bring your old phones into school, marked for the attention of Mrs Pat Keighley, Head of Girls' PE at the start of next term.
Thank you.
