Sainsbury's ‘Active Kids Get Cooking’

As a thank you to Sainsbury’s for the donation of over 100 pieces of cooking equipment plus ingredients, Oswestry School pupils invited along the local store manager, Peter Jones, to sample the results of their pizza making.

The equipment donation was to mark the launch of the ‘Active Kids Get Cooking’ challenge, an initiative to enhance local children’s culinary education and encourage them, in this day of fast-food, to cook a meal from scratch.

Research, carried out by Sainsbury’s, has shown that nine out of ten teachers fear the next generation will be incapable of serving a good home-cooked meal.

The Oswestry School pupils prepared the pizzas as part of their Home Economics course.
