Saturday 24th November
FOUNDER’S DAY SERVICE FOR ALL PUPILS

Preacher Rt Rev Jonathan Gledhill, Bishop of Lichfield (St Oswald’s) 11am

A note to remind you that our Founder’s Day service takes place this Saturday, November 24,  at 11.00 a.m. in St Oswald’s Parish Church.  May I encourage you to attend the service.  It is a very special occasion when current and former pupils, parents and friends of the school meet together to celebrate its foundation by David Holbache six hundred years ago, and give thanks for those who have supported the school through its long history.  Seating will be on a first come first served basis; admittance will be from 10.15 onwards.

Pupils will attend school as normal from 8.45 a.m.  Buses will operate at the start of the day at the normal time.  Parents may collect their child from the church, after the service, at approximately 12.15 p.m.; if this is the case please ensure that your child informs his/her Form Tutor before leaving the church.  All other pupils will be escorted back to School and be ready for collection at approximately 12.30 p.m.  Buses will leave the school at around 12.40 p.m.

600th Anniversary Wall Hanging Dedication

You are also most welcome to attend our Sunday morning chapel service on Sunday 25 November at 9.30 am during which our splendid new commemorative wall-hanging will be dedicated.  The wall hanging depicts six historic scenes from Oswestry School’s six hundred year history and will be dedicated by one of our most esteemed Old Oswestrians, the Reverend Eddie Isaac. A complimentary commemorative service sheet will be available for you to take home as a souvenir of this memorable occasion and I sincerely hope you will be able to join us.
