U13, U12 v Marches School (h) 3.30pm

U13s

As this was the first game of the season for both teams, it was played as a coached game in order to help both teams with their match play.

The new players to the school settled into the team quickly. The ball handling skills were good and the team positioned themselves well as the match progressed, using all the court rather than clustering round the ball as they tended to do in the first quarter.

The girls marked well but some problems occurred with footwork and balance as the girls became more tired so this will be something to work on in training sessions.

It was a very good session for both schools and the match was played in an excellent spirit.

Oswestry won 9-2

U12s

This was a coached game. Oswestry dominated the play and displayed some excellent attacking moves along with good defending and were 5-0 ahead at half time.

The second half was again dominated by the Oswestry team who played extremely well together, moving effectively around the court, maintaining posesssion and defending strongly. Our shooters must also be commended for their excellent skills as they proved to be very consistent throughout the 20 minutes.

Well done to all of the players, you have all made such an encouraging start to the season.

The match ended with Oswestry winning 8-0.
Player of the Match: Emily Lunt-Evans.
