OS Overseas Students Help At The Meadows School International Day

Seven of our Sixth Formers were today invited to help at an International Day held at The Meadows School, Oswestry.

Aiming to provide the pupils of The Meadows with a flavour of the culture and languages of other nations, sessions involving France, Spain, Holland, Germany, Wales, Russia, India and other countries were provided.

Sohm Buchasia and Utkarsh Meena, visiting our school this term from the Scindia School in India, told the children something of the religion of their country and of their own, very different, life at school, whilst Kristina Kingolts and Anna Shpilman, assisted by Brooke Simons-Akwah, counted in Russian with the pupils, introduced them to an old Russian fairy tale about a rabbit hunter and described life in Russia for the classes. Amir Kadora and Elena Burkart introduced an element of German into the day.

The Marches School and friends and parents of the school provided other experiences to provide a full and interesting day for the children. Many thanks to those who took part and to Mrs Chidlow, who went along and assisted our pupils.
