Year 6

Science Trip to Catalyst Museum, Widnes

Mrs Hart and Mr Croft took Year 6 on a Science Trip to the Catalyst Museum at Widnes.

Recycling Workshop by Emily Lunt-Evans

Year 6 went on a trip to the Catalyst Museum on the 28th February.  We did lots of activities, including a recycling workshop which I am going to explain to you now . . .

First of all we had a chat with the lady that took us for our workshop, she was very nice.  We talked about things that you can recycle and things that you can’t.

During the chat, the lady showed us a ruler recycled from three plastic cups, which I thought was neat.

Then we did an activity.  Our aim was to make a recycled fridge magnet out of foam and magnets.  First we had to draw around a shape of the triangular bit onto the foam, and then cut it out.  We then did the same again, except we used arrow shapes.

We had to cut out three arrow shapes, and then Mrs Bound and the lady glued our arrows on.  We used different colours.  Afterwards we stuck some magnets on the back and then we were done.
