Formed in 2005 to take up residency with the scheme ‘Music in the Round’ (to succeed the Lindsays) this ensemble brings together musicians from across the globe.
Centred at the Crucible, Sheffield, the ensemble is refreshingly unstuffy in its approach to concert-giving, and its music-making is given extra impact because of the deep friendship that exists between the performers and the added intimacy between players and audience that their presentation allows—‘in the round’. Although still ‘young’ as a group, these friendly and eager players are receiving great acclaim wherever they perform, and audiences across the UK have been delighted by the energy, enthusiasm and sheer brilliance which they bring to their playing.
Review of concert by Recital Series Director Chris Symons (pictured here with Ensemble 360) to follow.
