Justin Hugheston-Roberts was admitted as a solicitor in 1986. With a firm criminal law background he has both prosecuted and defended throughout the whole of his professional career and for many years was the administrator of two duty solicitor schemes.

In 1995 he was amongst the first solicitors to become a solicitor advocate by attaining the Higher Rights of Audience in Criminal Courts Qualification and was one of the first solicitor advocates to be appointed to prosecute in the Crown Court for the Crown Prosecution Service.

Justin is renowned as a formidable advocate and regularly appears throughout the country to lead high profile criminal cases in the Crown Court, courts martial and Court of Appeal (Criminal Division).

A supervisor for the firm’s General Criminal Contract, he is also a very high cost case contract supervisor. He also sits as a member of the Legal Services Commission’s Appellate Committee for serious fraud matters.

Justin has extensive military links which have extended in to his professional life in that he undertakes military defence work all over the world. He sits on the Military Courts Consultative Committee as well as the Judge Advocate General’s Court Steering Committee.

Justin has long established links with London. Having lived there for some time he was a member of the Honourable Artillery Company (the oldest Unit in the British Army). He is a Freeman of the City of London and a member of a City Livery Company. A regular broadcaster for radio and television on Military Legal Matters, he also advises film companies on military legal matters.
