Well done girls!  I am really proud of you.  The practice you have been putting into training certainly showed today. The smooth, steady transitions through the court and good use of turn-overs to maintain possession, and set plays executed to precision.  Ellesmere caused us problems, with their faultless GA, but Jess Tomley and Emma Duncombe, kept up the hard work in defence and stopped the goal advantage they had from being what it could have been.

Ellie Chambers and Holly Payne worked the circle so well together, and put the shots away with great success.  Fran Dyke as always provided agility and speed linking the attack and defence together with good command.  Elise Fisher, as WA, you did your job well, maintaining the space in the centre third and feeding with great accuracy to Holly and Ellie.  Natalie Makin provided some great interceptions to gain possession for us, and was never afraid to ‘get stuck in’.

I enjoyed umpiring your matches, and seeing you all in full flow.  With three out of four teams defeated, you played outstandingly against Corbet, who had won their pool to become semi-finalists with us.  An easy defeat, which was unexpected, you made it to the final.

I am not concerned that we were beaten by Ellesmere in the final.  The standard of your play all afternoon made me proud to be there with you.  Ellesmere’s dominance as a team  has always been a force to be reckoned with.  The final was always going to be a challenge.   To make it there you took on the might of Lakelands, Moreton Hall, Marches, and Corbet.  They were always going to be strong contenders, but you beat them with ease.  Well done ladies and thank you for such a rewarding afternoon.
