Oswestry U13 vs Wrekin College
On Saturday 17th March Oswestry School played Wrekin College. Oswestry started the game on the front foot. After a great turn over and good hands from the backs, Calum Jones was set up to break through, score under the posts and the try was converted successfully. Oswestry then carried on putting on the pressure, setting up a second try for Calum Jones. Unfortunately this went unconverted.
Wrekin then started to fight back, great defence from Oswestry held them back for a time but Wrekin went over and scored. The half time score was left at 12 - 5 to the hosts.
The visitors started the game positively with a mistake by Oswestry from the kick off and it didn’t take long for them to score this time and they converted the try. this tied the scores at 12 – 12.
Wrekin continued to attack but with great defence, Oswestry managed to hold Wrekin for well over twenty minutes of the second half. With great determination, Oswestry broke through thanks to a great individual third try from Calum Jones, which was converted. This left the score at 19 -12 to the hosts. The visitors didn’t give up and continued to attack, all in vain as Oswestry held out to win 19 – 12.
