U12 Match Report - Netball vs Shrewsbury High School
On Tuesday 24th January 2012, Oswestry School U12 Netball team played Shrewsbury High School in their 2nd match this season.
The game didn’t start off to well with Shrewsbury scoring their first goal in the first few minutes. Shrewsbury had a strong defence but their attacking was also excellent with Shrewsbury High School scoring another two goals before half time making the score 2-0.
With a quick swap round at half time, Oswestry School were back in the game with Lucy Lowry scoring an amazing goal and Bethan Edwards also scoring, bringing us up to 2-2. The match was neck and neck when Bethan scored yet another goal but our luck quickly faded when the Shrewsbury Girls scored another two goals making the score 4-3 to them.
We were passing the ball swiftly down the court towards the attacking end when, out of nowhere, a Shrewsbury defender appeared. The ball was once again moving the other way. The Shrewsbury Goal Attack took a shot which narrowly missed, but their Goal Shooter was waiting and ready, snatching the ball and taking a shot to make the score 5-3 with only three minutes left.
We tried our hardest to get the ball to our attacking end but the Shrewsbury defenders were too strong, and Shrewsbury scored yet another goal just as the whistle went – signalling time was up and the match was over.
Man of the match was given to Ffion Bell, Centre. The end score was 6-3 to Shrewsbury.
