Match Report

Oswestry v Royal Wolverhampton School

On Wednesday 23rd November Oswestry hosted the Royal Wolverhampton School on the back of a bitter defeat to Abbeygate. The first half began well with Oswestry commanding the game and scoring early on through the prolific Alois Sikuka. We then struck five minutes later when Alois played a lovely through ball for Freddie Anderson who took the chance with confidence and finesse to net his tenth of the season. As the half went on Oswestry started to become complacent and had a shot cleared off of the line just before the half time whistle went.

As the second half continued Oswestry began to run the game at our own pace against a side who were lacking in fitness, Alois added another two goals to his name to complete his hat-trick, his fourth so far this season. After this Oswestry added more goals through  Louis Fisher, a Henry Potter free kick struck from the halfway line and a 25 yard strike from Scott Vallely to round off proceedings.

The eventual scoreline was an 8-1 victory, we were unlucky to concede but another prevailing defensive performance must be credited through the hard work of Sebastian and Henry Potter, Liam Kirk, Robbie Clarke and Tommy Scott.

We go into our next game with a boost of confidence which will be needed against a physical Old Oswestrians side eager to get one over the current first team.
