Sad Passing of Cathy Hopkins
Oswestry School is saddened by the loss of the well known and much respected Cathy Hopkins.
Cathy joined
Part of Cathy’s role at that time, as well as being PA to the Headmaster, was assisting in marketing and recruitment of new students. In 2003 she was able to hand over this element of the job to a newly appointed Director of Recruitment, Felicity Bosworth-Hen.
When Felicity moved on to pastures new, Cathy’s previous experience and having worked closely with Felicity provided her with the ample knowledge to take on the full time role of Registrar. She took up the reins in September 2006 and thereafter worked diligently and tirelessly in her efforts to build up the student body at Oswestry School.
Cathy would often be seen out and about on the School campus showing prospective parents, students or agents around; always immaculately dressed and never a hair out of place Cathy was a great ambassador for the School both at home and on visits abroad.
Cathy showed great strength and courage as she battled with her illness; something which her close friends and family can testify to. Our heartfelt condolences go to Cathy’s husband, Bryan and her children, Holly and David.
