Old Oswestrian Comes in for a Flying Visit

Oswestry_School._Chris_Wylie._tumb_nail.jpg
Old Oswestrian Chris Wylie (1954-1959) flew into Sleap airfield, North Shropshire to meet Rachel Bowd OO (1992-2002), our OO Coordinator, on Tuesday 12th June.

Chris and Rachel met at the London Dinner in May and they struck up a conversation about Chris’ passion of flying. So following this they arranged to meet at Sleap airfield, north Shropshire so Rachel could have a look at the plane.

Chris flew in on a rare sunny day in a G-GYAV is a Cessna 172 from Liverpool where the Southport & Merseyside Aero Club is based.   The aero club was founded in 1951 making it one of the oldest Members Flying Cubs in the northwest.  Chris is the Honorary Secretary of the club.  To visit their website please click on the link www.g-gyav.org.uk.

Chris and Rachel plan to meet again soon but this time Rachel will embark on a flight with Chris over Oswestry and hopefully captures some aerial photos of our School.
