Oswestry School Sailing Association - OSSA

activeossa300.jpg
OSSA offers our pupils the opportunity to have a go at sailing.

The group is affiliated to Shropshire Sailing Club (SSC) and has three RS Feva dinghies based at SSC's Whitemere home near Ellesmere.

OSSA offers 'Taster Days' and, by arrangement with SSC's Royal Yachting Association (RYA) qualified instructors, courses in the Trinity and Michaelmas terms to achieve qualifications awarded by the RYA.

There is a charge for courses and for membership of OSSA. Pupils who become members of OSSA are invited to take part in many of SSC's own club 'Fun Days' and other activities where members may use other boats belonging to the club, take part in games and competitions and put their new skills to the test.

Of course, you can always just have fun jumping off the jetty!

If you are interested learning to sail then speak to Mr Arnott about 'Taster' opportunities, keep your eyes open for posters around school and look out for entries in the school diary.
