Year 7 battle the rain at Conwy Castle

Oswestry_School-Y7_Conwy_Castle-2012__3_-thmb.jpg
Year 7 visited Conwy Castle at the end of term with Mrs Munford, Mr Robb, Miss James and Mr Mackay. They braved the wet weather as they were given a guided tour of the Castle.

Tia Owen-Smith reported ‘We split up into two groups and met our guides, we looked at how old the castle was and all the old features of when it was built, we saw the chapel where the King prayed , where they slept, the kitchens and saw a model of the castle and the town walls; it was fun’

Throughout the tour the rain worsened and towers filled with puddles for splashing much to the delight of John Darby, Zak Dobie and Luke Moran and the horror of those who had forgotten their raincoats. A quick shopping spree in the gift shop saw bows and arrow being bought by Alex Sambrook-Jones among others. Thankfully the sun came out after lunch, Will Baker, Xavie Clarke, Sam Chesworth & Dennis Bates filled up on as many sweet things as time allowed, whilst others stocked up on hot dogs before the group enjoyed a walk around the town and met up for an ice cream at the harbour below the town walls. Sian Grice and Lucy Lowry showed off their extra, extra large footballs and Francesca Jones had her extra-large stick of Conwy rock. Well done to all of year 7 for surviving the rain and being such cheerful company.
