U11 Kwik Cricket Tournament Winners

Oswestry_School_OCC_cricket_tournament__4_-thmb.jpg
On Wednesday 14th June a mixed U11 cricket team went to compete in the local primary schools tournament  at Oswestry Cricket Club.  A place in the county competition was up for grabs for the winner.

Oswestry School were in pool one with Morda, Ifton Heath and Bryn Offa. The boys and girls were outstanding from the first ball to the last in the group stages and as a result they won all three matches finishing top of the group.

Trefonen finished top of the other group so all was set for a very close final. However, the Oswestry team did not read the script and put in their best performance of the day to totally out play Trefonen and win the final by a massive 92 runs!!

A special mention must go to the four girls; Ellie Chadwick, Beth Williams, Phoebe Munford and Jenny Cyffin-Jones that were playing in their first ever cricket matches and did extremely well. The whole team had an outstanding morning and can now look forward to playing in the county tournament on Wednesday 27th June at Wellington Cricket Club.  Well done Team!!
