Global Young Leaders Conference Participant
Joe Collinge (Lower 6) will be taking in the sights of Washington DC and New York as part of the Global Young Leaders Conference. The 10-day trip comprises a mixture of learning and sight seeing culminating in a simulated global summit which might be held at the United Nations headquarters.
Joe, was invited to join the event after his name was put forward by Mrs Chidlow.
“I was invited to nominate an exceptional student to attend the conference which is held in a number of locations including the US, China and Europe,” said Mrs Chidlow.
“I am delighted that Joe was chosen to take part in what I am sure will prove to be a wonderful opportunity to further his excellent communication and team leading skills.”
In Washington DC Joe will visit international embassies, evaluate nations’ interdependency in world trade and economics, and study the art of conflict resolution.
Whilst in New York he will be given the chance to speak to a member of the United Nations, draft policy proposals, debate issues and work to pass resolutions.
