Edward Ellis-Cooper (Year 10) competed in the Shropshire County Championships held at the Telford Athletics Track, coming third overall in the Men's U17 Long Jump.

This is Edward's first season competing in the U17 category (at only fourteen years old) and he reached a distance of 5.57m, beating a previous personal best of 5.22m achieved at the National Young Athletics League competition.
This was held at the Queensway Stadium earlier in May. In this event he was competing against other athletics clubs from the West Midlands and was placed second.
