Morocco Trip

Year 9 and 10 have been on a surfing trip to Morocco.  Here you can read a report on the adventures all the students got up to, written by the pupils themselves.

Day 1

We started our journey by meeting at Guinevere House, to be greeted by a happy Miss Jones and a Welshman we call Mr Evans.

We had a great journey on the bus because of all the surfing holiday music and we got to Gatwick airport safely.

We shivered our way into the North Terminal and were greeted by a lovely EasyJet man who took quite a shine to Mr Evans!  The passport pictures soon came out, Miss Jones' was extra special!

Next, we went through the security and into the shops. We got very excited whilst boarding the plane.  On the plane there was a buzz of excitement as we took off, but soon we were all asleep! As we were coming down the views were amazing of the Atlas mountains and as we landed we had a special shout out to Oswestry School telling us to go with the flow.

We arrived at this amazing apartment and were instantly welcomed. On fitting in we then went on to play games which Lizzie won while Lewis Bebb made friends with some locals.

So far a great time had by all and we look forward to the adventures to come as we enter the sea and get on our surf .

Going with the flow !!

Day 2

Today we had a gorgeous breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice.

At 9 o'clock we packed up and went of for our first morning surfing.

It took about twenty minutes and it felt like forever because we were all just so excited. The motto for today was 'never say never'.

This afternoon we came back to the apartment and played rounders on the beach which was really good (England v Wales) when we were making a way back again Gracie Hindley got chatted up by a hot Moroccan boy who claimed he was Justin Beiber!!

Tea was beautiful again tonight; make your own burgers. Tonight we have played cards and made the most out of the terrace jacuzzi.

Can not wait for tomorrow wen hopefully we will all be up standing on the boards.

Day 3

Got off to a wicked start with bright sun and lovely temperatures! After breakfast we set of to the beach. As it was Group Two's's turn to go first, Group One chilled on the beach. Group Two once again got riding the waves. Some better than others as Katie Tomley wiped Miss Jones out three times! After two hours in the water, paddling, surfing doing relays and generally having fun, Group one took to the waves.

This group also had tonnes of fun and really improved their techniques. During this time Group Two played rugby, volleyball and slid down sand dunes right next to the Prince of Morocco's house!

This afternoon we chilled on the beach and played rounders. After everyone had literally baked themselves in the boiling sun, we went back to the apartment. Once again tea was amazing! What a day! Bring on Day 4 ... written by Gracie Hindley

Day 4

Day 4 in the Moroccan surf house- don't worry about a thing

Today the crew ventured south to new surroundings. Upon landing we saw the killer waves and we were pumped !!! We realised this was the day of "change" . We dived into the swell feeling fresh and alive. With great waves creating many surfing advances, as even Amelia mercer, Jess Pugh (the pair) are now standing and surfing the waves. With strong currents this day really wiped the group out. A special mention must go to the wipe out between Meggie Williams and Jess Pugh resulting in Jess being squished by Meg and the waves. This was a great day and well finished off with a lush meal out.

Today was a good day and got off to a good start for most of us! We headed back to Agadir where the waves had really picked up. This demanded a lot of concentration and strength to pick and ride the correct waves. Lots of fun was had by all again.

Day 5

-the best surfers are the surfers who are having the most fun

We were all flying, catching the waves right on the cusp and riding the white water all the way to the shore. We are all preparing and modifying our technique ready for the fancy dress surf off tomorrow which we can not wait for.

After surfing today we headed into Tagazout for a spot of shopping. The group purchased some lovely items after some very decent straight faced impressive haggling! We then headed back to our amazing water front terrace for the most incredible BBQ. Oh how we really do not want to come back to school or reality!

Day 6

Today we all got up excited to hit the road for our last day surfing in Agadir. Once again our awesome bus driver Red Wan drove us  there. At the beginning of the journey the group gave him a necklace which he seemed pretty happy with.

When we got the beach the waves looked awesome some of them pretty big!! Today it was Group One's turn to surf first. Lewis Bebb had the challenge of going to twenty one strangers introducing himself and picking them up, this was very entertaining!!

The doughnut man did very well persuading us to buy some more doughnuts!!  By this time Group One were in the water and catching the waves!

Before we knew it they were out of the water and getting changed for the fancy dress! I have to say Group Two's fancy dress outfits were pretty cool as Antonia Laundy came in her amazing  crayon suit!!  After this we made our way back to the apartment to 'begin'our packing, instead we went and played on the beach. Then got greeted by a gorgeous tea!

Day 7

Today we got up at normal time, on a complete downer because we knew we had to go home, although none of us wanted to! We had breakfast as usual and made our sandwiches!! Before we knew it we were outside for Red Wan, the amazing bus driver to take us to the airport in our ultimate party bus!!  The plane journey was surprisingly short, it didn't seem to take that long! We checked out as quickly as possible to get onto the school mini bus. Half way through the  journey we stopped off at the survive station and unexpectedly saw the trip which had gone to London - happy days!

Pretty gutted to be back home and leaving such a wicked country and will miss the surfing everyday!!

It has been amazing and so glad that I went on it and I will definitely do it again next year.

Thank you so much to Miss Jones and Mr Evans for such a awesome holiday!!
