Junior Cross Country Winners
Oswestry School’s junior girls and boys had the chance to compete in the final round of the Primary School’s Cross Country held at Quinta. Over the four races the Years 3 & 4 boys came 3rd overall and the Years 5 & 6 Boys and Girls came 1st respectively. They were awarded a trophy each for their efforts. This was a fantastic achievement, considering the number of primary schools competing in the local area.

At the Quinta race Beth Williams came 8th and was the top Year 5 girl. Anya Stojanovic, Jenny Cyffin Jones and Hannah Jones also did very well, all finishing in the early 20’s. The Year 5 & 6 boys team put their best foot forward, Sam Reincke putting in a fantastic performance coming 3rd and Laurie Bowen ,15th.
Jacob Tidridge (Year 6), has won all four races and was crowned for the second consecutive year ‘overall champion’.
Special mention at the Quinta race must go Sam Freeman (Year 3 & 4 Boys) who came 8th, his best position of the season and Laurence Jones in Year 2 who competed in the Years 3 & 4 race.
Laurence wasn’t able to gain a place due to his age but would have finished in 27th position, beating a great number of older boys.
