Scholarships and Bursaries

Scholarships

Scholarships and Exhibitions are offered to candidates on entry to the Senior School. These are available for pupils who wish to enter 1st Form, 3rd Form or the Lower Sixth. Scholarships and Exhibitions can give remission of up to 50% of the value of the fees. These are available for general academic excellence and conspicuous talent in music, art or sport. Scholarships and Exhibitions are awarded on merit, this being gauged by examination, audition or assessment. The results are benchmarked against the results of previous years – thus a candidate who gains an award in any given year is of the same standard as someone who gained the same award the previous year.

An award made is normally held until the pupil leaves the School, provided that, in the opinion of the Headmaster, satisfactory progress is maintained.

Examinations and assessments are held each year in early February for entry the following September. For more information please click here

Bursaries

The School has a fund available to help those families who otherwise would not be in a position to pay full fees. The amount of the award will vary depending on individual circumstances. Application is by means of a standard ISBA application form and any information disclosed remains completely confidential between the applicants, the Headmaster and the Bursar. Awards are at the discretion of the Headmaster and families can apply at any time.

A remission of 20% is available to students in full time education who are children of serving members of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces.
