Oswestry School Learning Support Unit

The Learning Support Department was first established at Oswestry School in 1981 under the leadership of Mrs Pat Barker. It catered for Senior School pupils in need of some remedial teaching, including those diagnosed as being dyslexic.

EAL International Pupils and EAL Lessons

Oswestry School welcomes pupils from all over the world and offers language and study skills support for pupils for whom English is not their first language.

The EAL department consist of qualified teachers with many years’ experience teaching English to speakers of English as an acquired language (EAL) both in this country and abroad.

Information and Communications Technology

Oswestry School entered the ‘Microchip Age’ in 1980, with the acquisition of a Research Machine 380Z Microcomputer. Since then we have successfully surfed the crest of the electronic wave, seeking to enable our students to become fluent in their computer literacy, while regarding ICT as an aid to study rather than an end in itself.
