Snowdonia300.jpg
A group of Year 10 and 11 pupils recently took on the challenge of an expedition to windy Snowdoniaas part of their preparation for their CCF Red Star Award.

In addition, Oswestry School's Combined Cadet Force offers its members the opportunity to attend the Cadet Centres for Adventurous Training to undertake Adventure Training courses that are sponsored by the armed forces. The courses are exactly as you would find in any centre and offer excellent value for money which allows cadets to access activities that may not otherwise try.

The courses on offer include:

Mountain walking
Climbing
Kayaking
Canoeing
Caving
Winter Mountaineering (In Scotland)

Several cadets from the detachment have taken advantage of the opportunities offered by the three centres; which can lead to Army Proficiency Certificates that allow the cadets to access military expeditions should they wish.
