Keith Osgood Coaching Workshop

Former Tottenham Hotspur (1974-78) professional footballer Keith Osgood paid a visit to the school to deliver coaching workshops to our U13 and U18 footballers.

Keith Osgood Football masterclass

We are pleased to welcome Keith Osgood on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th September to run football training sessions with the U13, 1st and 2nd teams.

Keith played for Tottenham Hotspur between 1973 and 1977 as a central defender. He scored fourteen times, ten of those being penalties.

ISFA six-a-side competition

The Senior six a side Tournament is the first competitive football of the ISFA season being hosted by Charterhouse School, Godalming. Oswestry are sending a team down on Saturday 11th September to this prestigious annual tournament (the ISFA's oldest tournament).

RLSS NPLQ Lifeguard Success

Congratulations to a small group of Oswestry School Pupils (Emma Bell, Sam Bell, Josh Hunt, Becky Adcock and Chris Jones) who have used their time off in the summer holidays productively to become qualified as Royal Life Saving Society National Pool Lifeguards.

Multi Sports Week

The Oswestry School PE Department is holding a multi sports course from:

Monday 4^th July to Friday 8^th July, from 9:00am – 4pm

Boys and girls from yr 2- 9 are invited to attend and activities will include:

Tennis

Volleyball

Kwik Cricket

Trampolining

Swimming

Softball

Basketball

Football

Costs will be £20 per day or £90 for the week

All pupils should bring own packed lunch.

A Level P.E. visit Sports Science lab

On Tuesday 28th June, Mr Hollingsworth and Miss Jones escorted the A Level PE students to one of elite sports best kept secrets; The Lab.

Student scores a century

Congratulations to Callum Morris who has recently scored a century while playing against the Headmaster’s XI.

Callum managed 106 not-out and totalled a score of 150 in partnership with Hieronymo.

County shot put record broken

Shot put ace Jake Hunt has proved his athletic prowess with two wins in recent weeks and has also recorded a personal best

Fourteen-year-old Oswestry School pupil Jake took top honours in the under-17s Shropshire Schools Competition and followed this up with another win in the North Shropshire Schools under-15s tournament.

Year 7 Student Organises Charity Cricket Match

An enterprising Shropshire schoolboy was the toast of the school after staging a charity cricket match which raised money for two charities.

Australian School visits on UK Tour

Australian school Scots PLG stopped off at Oswestry School on their cultural tour of the UK.

We hosted them in our usual 'let's play sport' manner, with the PE Department arranging a variety of fixtures including football, volleyball, table tennis and Aussie rules footy!

Oswestrian Golf Day - Captain's Report

On Friday 24^th June around 50 players turned up for the Golf Day at Oswestry Golf Club.

1st XI v Ellesmere match report

On Saturday 25 June, the 1^st XI secured an historic victory over staunch rivals Ellesmere College. The game proved to be exciting from beginning to end with spectacular catches, quality bowling and some instrumental batting from both sides.

South African Cricket Tour comes to Oswestry School

The 1st XI cricket team took on Old Boys High School cricket team from Paal, South Africa as part of their UK Cricket Tour.
