RLSS NPLQ Lifeguard Success
Congratulations to a small group of Oswestry School Pupils (Emma Bell, Sam Bell, Josh Hunt, Becky Adcock and Chris Jones) who have used their time off in the summer holidays productively to become qualified as Royal Life Saving Society National Pool Lifeguards. After a gruelling week's training consisting of Lifeguard theory, Health and Safety, First Aid and practical water rescues including how to rescue casualties with spinal injuries, they were fully prepared for the assessment and performed brilliantly to pass the course.
This has provided the students with the opportunity to gain part time employment at local leisure centres and provided the opportunity to earn an extra bit of pocket money as we look forward to seeing them at work during Wednesday afternoon games, swimming galas, swimming club and at next year’s Oswestry School triathlon. No pressure guys!
Very pleased for you all, well done.
Miss Jones
