Art, Gregory’s Mosaic is just what The Doctor Ordered
![]() |
Gregory, who is a lifelong Dr Who fan, took nearly a week to make the impressive mosaic which features The Doctor, a Dalek and Davros, Dr Who’s arch-enemy and creator of the Daleks. Keeping in the ancient tradition of mosaics he has written their titles in Greek characters.
Gregory submitted his mosaic to the BBC's DWA magazine, who were so impressed that they awarded him a tardis-style book giving the history of all the Doctors from the popular BBC series.
Carol Singing, Interactors and Choir Entertain
The Interact group were joined by the Senior Choir at The Pedigree today to sing carols and festive songs to entertain the Shropshire Helping Hand Christmas party.
The Interactors then moved on to sing their songs for the residents of Stanley Place and Heatherdene Residential homes.
Guinevere House Celebrate St Nicholaus Day
In Germany, Nicholaus is usually celebrated on a small scale. Many children put a boot called Nicholaus-Stiefel (Nicholaus boot) outside the front door on the night of 5 December. St. Nicholaus fills the boot with gifts and sweets overnight, and at the same time checks up on the children to see if they were good, polite and helpful the last year. If they were not, they will have a tree branch (Rute) in their boots instead. Sometimes a disguised Nicholaus also visits the children at school or in their homes and asks them if they have been good (sometimes ostensibly checking his golden book for their record), handing out presents as deserved.

Snow!, Send In Your Snow Pics!
In previous years, good falls of snow have produced scenic and imaginative snow scenes from pupils and staff who have been unable to travel in to School and from pupils and boarders who have been enjoying the snow at School.
Have a look at previous years' images below. Can you do any better? Send in your pictures to website@oswestryschool.org.uk. If sending more than one image you may need to send them separately.
Thank you.
The first two images received are from James and Matty Gale putting the arena to good use in Pontdolgoch!

Clear Out For Christmas
Help Children in Bosnia and Slovenia
Following the success of recent years' Christmas collections for Bosnian and Slovenian orphanages, this year we are again appealing for donations of children's books, toys, games, clothes and shoes (in good condition). They will be sent to orphanages in Mostar and Zenica in Bosnia and to a safe house in Slovenia. Last year's donations of baby supplies such as nappies, oil and talc were very welcome and we would be pleased to receive donations of these items again. All goods will go to children in need of these things.
