A Cornishman, and educated at Canterbury Cathedral Choir School, Stephen will have plenty in common with his accompanist in this Peter Humphreys recital. His huge experience encompasses opera, concerts and recitals, covering a wide range of repertoire throughout Europe, the USA and the Far East. His extended recording catalogue covers over 125 CDs, and includes collaborations with a galaxy of stars, including Hickox, Pinnock, Marriner, Rutter and Norrington. Recital accompanists have included Iain Burnside, Graham Johnson, Peter Seymour and Roger Vignoles. He is widely recognized as an authority on the English Song, and fittingly his programme will include the marvellous setting of Hardy poems by Finzi-‘Earth and Air and Rain'.
Christopher Symons' most recent collaborations include the Skampa and Allegri String Quartets, John Lill, Peter Bradley-Fulgoni. Chris is the Director of this Recital Series.
