Maths Challenge Success for Oswestry School

Over 4500 schools in the UK participate in the annual maths challenges, which are designed to stimulate interest in maths, using tests of reasoning and mental agility.
"Maths is a popular subject at Oswestry School and our students regularly achieve well at GCSE and A level," said Miss Scott. "Taking part in the Maths Challenges helps them to increase their skills and to find further enjoyment in the subject."
Four of the successful students will now go on to participate in the Regional Maths Team Challenge at Wolverhampton.

Next year at the end of the summer term, the children in Years 2, 3 and 4 have been invited to take part in a two-day residential trip. This year we have chosen the Llandudno area; accommodation and visits have now been booked and details have been sent home.
More details will be available from tonight's information evening for parents from 7.00pm. Please come along and join us for a glass of wine and we will answer any questions that you may have.

The combined detachments will march from the Bailey Head to the Memorial Gates at Cae Glas Park to take part in the outside (1100) and church based events before reforming to take part in the final march past.
Those cadets who are taking part today should meet at 0945 at the ATC Drill Hall on Willow Street near the fire station.

Outdoor Education, Cadet Centre for Adventurous Training, Halton near Lancaster

10 cadets from the School attended the Cadet Centre for Adventurous Training at Halton, near Lancaster, during the recent half term to participate in a number of courses including summer mountain walking, climbing, open canoeing and white water kayaking. All of these courses are open to the older cadets in the detachment and, to this end, the centre had 75 cadets from across the country on its courses.
