ADRIAN BRENDEL (cello) and TIM HORTON (piano) PETER HUMPHREYS CENTRE Sunday 4 March 2007 at 7.30pm
This cello-piano duo is now one of the most wanted chamber ensembles in the country, having recently become part of the Music in the Round scheme set up by the Lindsays' Peter Cropper. Their wide repertoire of marvellous music written for this combination is made all the more wonderful by the ravishing sound of Adrian's Stradivarius cello. Tim Horton is a brilliant partner, and their joint sunny personalities make them an irresistible force when it comes to an evening's music making. It is especially pleasing to be able to welcome Adrian this year in which, just three months later, we will be welcoming his father for the Season's final concert.

Adrian's recent solo and concerto venues include Amsterdam, Lucerne, Florence, Frankfurt, Vienna, London, Paris, Madrid and Valencia. Tim's particular love is chamber music, but his solo career continues apace. Indeed, it was Tim who was asked to stand in for an indisposed Alfred Brendel to play the Schoenberg Piano Concerto with Rattle/CBSO in Birmingham and Berlin.
